This Crosshatch Ladder Damascus knife is forged from a single piece of Damascus steel. Unlike other Damascus knives, this allows the pattern to be seen all the way into the tang between the beautiful pieces of wood on the handle. 

The Damascus steel design is over 2,000 years old and is highly valued as it is hard and flexible while maintaining a sharp edge. Weapons forged from Damascus steel were far superior to those formed from just iron.
