These onions have a mild, sweet flavor and are commonly used in salads, soups, stir-fries, and as a garnish. Heshiko onions grow to about 12–14 inches tall and can be harvested in about 60 to 90 days. They are hardy, can be grown year-round in some climates, and will multiply by dividing at the base, making them ideal for perennial gardens.
